Before the holiday season, take one of the simplest - yet most profound - climate actions we can take by leaving the stores/stuff behind and 'opting outside' to enjoy the gifts of conserved natural lands. On this International Day of Climate Action, we’ll take an inspiring hike from Palo Corona Regional Park, past the summit of Inspiration Point and the quiet beauty of Animas ("spirit") Pond. Then we’ll dip down through redwood groves that seem frozen in time along San Jose Creek. We’ll discuss issues pertinent to climate change and our own climate actions, including urban development, water quality, and conservation. Every step of this hike is made possible by strong partnerships (Big Sur Land Trust, Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District, CA State Parks), a reminder that collaborating can bring beautiful change and that our actions are stronger when taken together.
